This site is an official website of ATEET: A Journal of History and Archaeology with an ISSN 2249-1252. It is being published since 2011. ATEET is a bi annual Journal of A Historical Research Society entitled “School of Historical Studies (A Historical Research Society)”, Aligarh, India. The Society has been registered under Society Registration Act of 1860 as non-profit organization. It is dedicated for the cause of history by encouraging and promoting the writings of history on the scientific and secular basis. In the past history has been misused to serve the vested interest instead of serving the mankind more. Moreover, history is yet to be divorced from mythology and religious literature. This is being happened because of the ignorance about the scientific writing in the field of history and masses lack historical awareness. A large number of cock and bull story prevail in the realm of history which are far from reality. Though for the last few decades scientific methods have been devised to write the history but this expertise remained limited to few.
Thus a group of historians especially Dr. Manvendra Kumar Pundhir, Professor of History, AMU make an attempt to augment the history writing on scientific line by providing guidance in historical researches and imparting their expertise to conduct research scientifically. Besides, the aim is also to disseminate the knowledge of present historical researches among the professional and public alike to enhance their historical awareness so the people can know the truth and the understand the past in proper way.
School of historical studies is a Society/ a non government organization which was established in 2001 to promote researches in history on scientific and secular basis. To meat the object, Society has to undertake historical researches in the form of projects and coordinate the works of individuals and various agencies to achieve results. Moreover, the aim of the Society is also to bring the historical awareness among the masses to serve the cause of history and to preserve the heritage and physical evidences of the past.
The aims and objectives of the societies are as:
- To undertake, promote and encourage the scientific study and researches in history and archaeology.
- To hold Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Memorial Lectures etc. on the various aspects of history.
- To publish Proceedings, Bulletins, Memoirs, Journals, Survey Reports and other scholarly works.
- To undertake Documentation of Monuments, Buildings, Sites, Landscapes, etc. in the form of Drawings, Photographs, Films and Documentaries.
- To undertake surveys, explorations and excavations of archeological sites including historical sites etc.
- To undertake the intensive study and conservation of the Heritage and Culture.
- To establish and manage Institute and Committees to fulfill Society’s objectives.
- To perform all other acts conducive to the fulfillment of the objects of the Society.
- To promote and develop the creative talent so they can contribute in the promotion and encouragement of Culture such as music, drams, dances, films, paintings, sculpture, architecture, etc.
